Holland – Grand Haven, Saugatuck, South Haven

We were hired by a national corporate real estate company to film Holland, MI & Grand Rapids, Michigan.  We were contacted in April when the Covid Lockdown was in full swing, so our goal was to film it sometime over the summer.  Seeing the great weather and some of Covid restrictions lifting we decided on July 4th weekend.  It was great.  We wanted to see people on the streets, and found that Western Michigan is similiar to Florida, many of the people who live there are free spirited.  We rented a pontoon boat and and worked out perfect to get shots from the water as well as with the drone, and by bike.  My only regret, I would have like to have spent more time in the other waterfront towns like Grand Haven, South Haven, and especially Saugatuck.  Western Michigan as a great place for Floridians wanting to escape the brutal Florida heat.  The people who hired us was warning us it was “hot” up there, and yes it was pretty warm, but still not as brutally hot as Florida.
